January 2000 - Groundbreaking ceremony at Tainan plant
May 2001 - Grand opening at Tainan plant, Corning’s first TFT-LCD glass substrate manufacturing facility in Taiwan
September 2001 - Tainan plant received ISO 9001 Certification
2003 - Tainan plant received ISO 14001 certification and OHSAS 18001 management system certification audit
March 2003 - Tainan plant began construction of melting operations
July 2003 - Corning announces major capacity expansion for Tainan facility ($180 million US)
March 2004 - Melting commencement ceremony at Tainan plant
July 2004 - Announced plans to establish Taichung TFT-LCD glass substrate manufacturing facility (Corning’s second in Taiwan)
