James R. Steiner is senior vice president and general manager of Corning’s Specialty Materials division, a position he has held since April 2003.
Steiner joined Corning in 1984 and has held a variety of marketing and business management leadership roles in the environmental, lighting and specialty materials businesses. His work has led him through several relocations in New York, West Virginia and Wiesbaden, Germany. In February 2000, Steiner was appointed to vice president and general manager of Specialty Materials.
Corning’s Specialty Materials division manufactures enabling optics and materials used in the semiconductor, industrial, telecommunications and display markets. Under Jim’s leadership, the division has experienced strong growth, by leveraging Corning’s optics and materials capabilities in a number of new product applications.
Steiner is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
