Corning® Epoxide Coated Slides can be used to attach short oligos, long oligos and cDNA – now one slide for all your microarray needs.
|
Corning® Epoxide Coated Slides are designed for covalent attachment of modified or unmodified short oligos (~30-mers), but they also work with long oligos and cDNA – now one slide can meet all your microarray needs. For optimum performance use with Corning’s specially formulated Epoxide Spotting Solution Spotting solution to obtain small, consistent spot sizes allowing for very high density arrays. The Pronto!™ Universal Hybridization Kit has been optimized for the precise specificity and stringency required for hybridizing labeled cDNA to short oligo microarrays.

Figure 2. Oligonucleotides (~30-mers) were printed onto a Corning Epoxide or a competitor’s covalent slide following recommended protocols. Oligos were either C6-amine modified at the 5’ end (A columns) or unmodified (B columns). Cy5/Cy3 ratios correlated strongly between modified and unmodified oligos for Corning® Epoxide slides, but the competitor’s slide showed an absolute requirement for amino modification. |
The advantages are easy to see:
- Slides can be used to attach short oligos, long oligos and cDNA – now one slide for all your microarray needs.
- Interslide CVs of 10% or less gives consistent results for comparison of data between experiments and between slides.
- Direct labeling of less than 5µg total RNA saves valuable samples and reduces overall costs.
- Covalent attachment of DNA to slide reduces number of steps involved in process because no UV cross-linking or baking is necessary.
