Corning® Digital Hot Plates and Stirrers with Pyroceram® Tops

Corning has now added innovative microprocessor technology with digital displays for optimally controlling heating and stirring to the 5" x 7" (12.7 x 17.8cm) and 10" x 10" (25.4 x 25.4cm) Pyroceram® glass-ceramic hot plates, stirrers and stirring hot plates (Figure 1).
New features:
- Digital LED temperature display is adjustable in 5°C increments and blinks until set temperature is reached.
- Digital LED stir speed display indicates when set speed has been reached.
- Microprocessor maintains consistent and repeatable temperature and stir speed settings.
- Optional external temperature controller (Cat. No. 6795PR) truly controls solution temperature inside the vessel.
Safety Features:
- Bright LED HOT TOP icon lights up when top plate temperature is over 60°C, even when heat control is turned off.
- Separate temperature sensor provides power cutoff if unit overheats.
- Optional temperature controller (Cat. No. 6795PR) will shut off unit when controller is not in liquid (Figure 2).
- Meets UL, CE and CUL standards.
Conserves Lab Space:
- All units have small footprint and a low profile - tallest unit is only 4-7/8" (12.2cm) high to fit comfortably inside hoods or storage cabinets.
- Support rod mount at rear of housing allows an optional 9" to 18" (22.9 to 45.7cm) support rod (Cat. No. 440129) to be directly attached to all digital models for holding standard ring, thermometer, electrode, or buret clamps as well as the Corning external temperature controller (Cat. No. 6795PR) .
Pyroceram® glass ceramic top:
- Extremely durable and heat resistant material originally used in missile nosecones.
- Provides uniform heating and better contrast during applications that require monitoring of color changes.
- Easy to clean and highly resistant to scratches, corrosion, and chemicals.
- No interference with magnetic coupling.
