Try Corning's new 1L and 3L plastic Disposable Spinner Flasks.

Spinner flasks have been used to grow cells in suspension for over 50 years. Now, Corning has re-engineered spinner flasks for maximum performance in a convenient, ready-to-use disposable design. The results are the innovative 1L and 3L Corning® disposable spinner flasks, the industry's newest, most advanced, productive and convenient suspension culture systems (Figure 1).

Convenience

The Corning® disposable spinner flask comes ready-to-use with paddle and integrated magnet, eliminating the need for time-consuming assembly or cleaning and reassembly. Optional vented aseptic filling caps are available for each size.

Confidence

Constructed using USP Class VI materials to meet ISO 10993 standards and assembled in Class 10,000 clean rooms. Each spinner flask is gamma irradiated to assure a clean and sterile (SAL 10-6) unit. No more concerns with detergent residues or contamination.

Performance

Vessels are comparable to conventional glass spinner flasks for growth of suspension cell lines and attachment-dependent cultures on microcarrier beads. The paddle size and height is optimized for each vessel size. A unique integrated magnet provides a smooth, even rotation at required speeds on any laboratory slow speed stirrer.

Features & Benefits

  • Extended paddle design ensures constant top-to-bottom motion of the liquid without having to adjust the height of the paddle.
  • Bottom contours on the paddle hug the shape of the flask, eliminating dead spots.
  • Wide neck openings for easy pouring; easily accept a 100 mL pipet.
  • Vertical side baffles break up laminar flow - ensures better mixing and maximizes cell production.
  • Optimizes your productivity and convenience, saves time and money.
  • Optional vented caps for safe, more effective gas exchange (Figure 3).

Materials of Construction

  • Vessel is constructed of polystyrene, paddle and shaft from polypropylene and caps from high density polyethylene. All are ISO 10993 compliant materials.
  • Single use only. Flasks cannot be autoclaved or resterilized with alcohol. Any attempt to do so will result in degradation of the materials.
