The Corning 500 cm² Square DW Spillguard Cell Culture Dish is ideal for culturing large numbers of anchorage dependent cells. The spillguard is a market first and protects against media spills and contamination during handling and transport to the incubator. The spillguard is a multilayer film which meets USP Class VI requirements for plastic containers and closures. The durable film covers the top of the dish and has a six inch opening to access cells and it can also be easily removed for harvesting cells.

Currently, Corning treated cell culture dishes are available in 35, 60, 100 and 150 mm diameter styles and 245 mm square style. The spillguard is only available on the 245 mm cell culture dish. The 500 cm² surface area is greater than six 75 cm² flasks. Due to its large size, 5 x 10⁷to 1 x 10⁸ cells can be cultured in a single dish.
