Expanded well volume in standard 96 and 384 well formats
Acton, Massachusetts, August 2004 - In its commitment to continuous product improvement, Corning Life Sciences announces the addition of 96 and 384 well expanded volume microplates for high sample capacity with V-bottom design for full recovery of well contents. These plates are ideal for assay dilutions, sample collection and long term, low temperature storage.
The 96 well microplates have 500 µL wells which provide a 56% increase in well volume while maintaining the standard height. The expanded well volume makes the plate more compatible with robotic equipment and V-bottom aids in full sample recovery. For customers requiring higher throughput, the 384 deep well plate has a square well geometry to maximize volume with V-bottom design to center contents and aid in sample recovery. The well volume is 240 µL. The plates are certified RNase-/DNase-free to ensure sample integrity and are available either sterile or nonsterile.
Chemical resistant sealing mats are available for the 96 and 384 well plates. A breathable sealing tape is also available for storage or cell culture applications and allows for gas exchange while maintaining a sterile barrier.
Corning offers a broad range of polypropylene microplates in 96 and 384 well formats with flat, round and V-bottom well designs.
