Novel, patented surface treatment technology now available on 96 and 384 well microplates
Acton, Massachusetts, September 2004 - Corning Life Sciences introduces 96 and 384 well microplates to the new Corning® CellBIND® Surface family of products. The Corning® CellBIND® Surface represents the first innovation in cell culture surface treatment in over 20 years. The unique Corning® CellBIND® surface improves consistency and provides even cell attachment across well bottoms.
The Corning® CellBIND® Surface is a patented technology using a microwave process to improve cell attachment by modifying the polystyrene and incorporating more oxygen into the microplate surface, rendering it more hydrophilic and increasing surface stability.
The increased stability of the surface allows for more consistent cell attachment as cells are less likely to be removed during washing steps. In addition, because the Corning® CellBIND® Surface is a non-biological surface, it does not require special handling or storage
The Corning® CellBIND® Surface is available with the 96 well clear solid microplate and the 96 and 384 well black clear bottom microplates for fluorescent-based assays. Other Corning® CellBIND® Surface products include roller bottles, flasks, and 6, 12, and 24 well plates.
