Expanded product offering further accommodates customer requirements for manufacturing flexibility and ease of use
Acton, Massachusetts, May 2004 - Addressing the need for a low tech approach to cell culture scale up without significant capital investment, Corning Life Sciences has expanded its CellSTACK™ Culture Chamber product line by offering customers a broader range of chambers, fittings, and handling equipment.
Corning has added a 5-STACK chamber with a cell growth area of 3,180 cm2 providing customers more options in scalable cell culture. All 1, 2, 5, 10, and 40-STACK chambers, are available with the new patented Corning® CellBIND™ surface for enhanced cell attachment or standard tissue culture treatment. There is no additional lead time for Corning® CellBIND™ treatment.
For added convenience in filling and venting manifolds are now available for 40-STACK chambers. Customized filling and venting accessories with aseptic connectors can be added prior to product shipment and are available upon request. The expanded product line also includes manual and automatic manipulators, incubators and shakers. A stacking device models the top surface of the CellSTACK™ chamber, securely nesting in the strengthening ribs. It is used to optimize incubator space while providing clearance for venting.
Corning manufactures CellSTACK™ chambers under GMP conditions and maintains a commitment to capacity with the ability for larger lot sizes. All chambers are packaged with instructions for use and include helpful hints for cell seeding and harvesting. The chambers feature wide filling ports and durable polystyrene construction and are the latest addition to a line of reliable and fully tested products for cell culture scale up.
