• How can we order Corning Products?

• Is Corning compliant with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive?

Under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive and implementing regulations, when customers buy new electrical and electronic equipment from Corning they are entitled to:

• Send old equipment for recycling on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis (this varies depending on the country)
• Send the new equipment back for recycling when this ultimately becomes waste

• Is Corning Microarray Technologies part of Corning Life Sciences?

Corning has discontinued the commercialization of its printed cDNA product lines; however, this does not impact Corning's GAPS coated slides or accessories. The Corning Life Sciences sales force and distribution network now represent the Corning GAPS II coated slides and hybridization chamber product lines.

Corning has recently launched UltraGAPS™ coated glass slides. This new product features even higher quality, consistency and performance than the standard GAPS II slides. Protocols have been developed for UltraGAPS slides to enable printing of both cDNA and long oligos, meeting the varied needs of microarray customers.

Your Corning representative can guide you to the best choices in PYREX^® glassware, quality pipette tips, tubes, filters, and a wide variety of high technology plastics for cell culture, genomics, and high throughput screening, and now GAPS coated slides for printing cDNA or oligo arrays.

• What are Corning Life Sciences' key focus areas for product development?

• Why does Corning Life Sciences have Corning® and Costar® brands?

Corning has been developing laboratory products for scientists since 1915, starting with our PYREX^® glassware. In the 1970s, Corning added plastic labware to its growing line of laboratory products. Corning acquired Costar Corporation in 1993, becoming a key manufacturer of high quality, high performance lab tools for the life sciences. Although we are one company, we continue to use both the Corning^® and Costar^® brands for our plastics products. Our customers recognize and trust these high quality branded products.

• Where are Corning's laboratory products manufactured?

Corning manufactures high quality products in five state-of-the-art facilities: Kennebunk, Maine; Oneonta, New York; Big Flats, New York; Monterrey, Mexico; and Reynosa, Mexico. All manufacturing is completed under stringent product guidelines to provide the highest level of consistency and quality. Our rigorous standards and certification programs exceed established industry guidelines.
