Clifford L. Hund joined Corning in 1973 as a process engineer in the refractories plant in Buckhannon, W. Va. Since then he has served in a broad range of roles and functions including engineering, product development, strategic planning and analysis, sales and marketing. He has worked with many different businesses across Corning, most notably Optical Fiber.
Effective in January 2008, Hund was appointed general manager and president Corning East Asia. In that role, he provides regional commercial technology and administrative leadership for all businesses in Japan and Korea with the exception of Display Technologies and the ACS cabling joint venture in Japan. In addition to the East Asia leadership, Hund assumed worldwide commercial leadership for the Gorilla Glass business in February, 2010.
Hund received a bachelor's degree in ceramic engineering from Rutgers College of Engineering and a master’s in business administration from Syracuse University. He holds two U.S. patents.
