TAKING TOUGH TO NEW HEIGHTS

During the development of Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4, Corning invented its toughest drop test to date — literally dropping test devices from 1 meter onto rough surfaces that best approximated the real world of streets, sidewalks and parking lots. Striving for even better drop performance, Corning scientists put Gorilla Glass 5 through even tougher tests from higher heights. This time, devices were dropped face-down from 1.6 meters onto rough surfaces. Gorilla Glass 5 survived up to 80% of the time, far outperforming competitive glasses.
