Corning Gilbert Introduces the Enhanced UltraEaseTM Connector Series
a New Generation of High Performance F Connectors
Glendale, AZ, August 1, 2005 – Corning Gilbert, a subsidiary of Corning
Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) has introduced its enhanced UltraEaseTM connector
Series 59 and 6. These connectors are part of the new generation high
performance sealed compression F connectors targeted at the new demands of the
network drop segment.
The enhanced UltraEaseTM connector series of compression connectors incorporates a patented grooved nut for improved gripping during cable connection The nut also has a port guide feature to help align the port during installation with the connector. Both features make this one of the easiest F connectors to install in the field.
The
connectors' patented post forward design allows easy verification that the
cable dielectric is flush with the post face prior to compression. This unique
concept presents the lowest activation force available in a high performance
compression connector. After compression the connector post has the
conventional recessed position. This is another feature that helps the
technician install the connector correctly every time.
UltraEaseTM connector compression technology provides 360 degrees of contact to the cable, providing excellent RF
shielding integrity and a complete moisture seal to the cable jacket. The
three-point sealing system passes the SCTE Interface Moisture Migration test.
IPS TP 013.
The UltraEaseTM 59 & 6 connector design incorporates a patented free spinning nut making installation faster and
more reliable. The one-piece design eliminates any loose parts and
connectorization can be performed rapidly and consistently without the risk of
misalignment of multiple parts. The plastic UV resistant black body provides
better long term performance than colored plastics. Each connector is marked by
a color coded label which displays "GILBERT" and the cable series. The product
is compatible with industry accepted security sleeves.
UltraEaseTM is a trademark of Corning Gilbert. Corning Gilbert owns U.S. Patent No. 6,790,081 for the 360° radial
compression, U.S. Patent No. 6,887,102 for the patented grooved nut and U.S.
Patent No. 5,975,591 for the sealed coupling nut design. For ordering
