Hands-On Comprehensive Technology Course for Single-mode TELCO Networks, Installation and Repair
Description
A five-day, hands-on course that prepares craftsmen for all aspects of fiber optic cable installation in an outside plant environment. Cable placement, fusion and mechanical splicing, cable termination (pigtail splicing), and acceptance testing are taught with extensive hands-on practice. The use of equipment, hardware, and procedures pertaining to outside plant and termination location applications is included in the instruction.
NOTE: This course is recognized by the Society of Cable Television Engineers as a source for preparation for the fiber optics portion of the BCT/E Category III examination. Successful completion of the course earns four re-certification units for those members already holding BCT/E certification. This course is approved for 35 hours BICSI Continuing Education Credits for Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) and/or Installation.
