Hands-On Installation Course for Connectorization of Multimode Optical Local Area Networks

Description
TS LAN 200 is a two-day course that prepares craftsmen for fiber optic connector installation and acceptance testing taught with extensive hands-on installation practice.

Targeted Student/Teacher Ratio: ≤ 1:6
Instruction: 90% Hands-on
BICSI Continuing Education Credit (CEC): 10 hours: RCDD®; 10 hours: Installer; 10 hours: Technician; 10 hours: Certified Trainer
Class Size: Maximum of 15 students
Class Times: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Class Length: 2 days

Curriculum

  • Theory and principles of fiber optics
  • Cable types and manufacturing techniques: loose tube and tight-buffered cables
  • Termination methods for field-installable connectors, pigtails and preconnectorized assemblies
  • Cable preparation techniques for splicing and connectorization
  • Installing the Corning Cable Systems multimode UniCam® SC, ST® Compatible and MT-RJ Connectors, in addition to anaerobic connectors
  • Use and operation of the Corning Cable Systems Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR)
  • Cable system testing and documentation: procedures and requirements
  • Safety: chemical safety, laser safety and fiber handling precautions

Discounts and Cancellation Policy: Late cancellations and class no-shows for registered students will incur charges.  A credit card number must be supplied 6 or more business days in advance to honor any/all discount(s) on classes.   • Want a private class at your facility? Class price for a private TS LAN 200 class held at the customer’s facility is $775.00 per student plus instructor’s expenses.
