I don't see exactly the course I want. Can I get a customized course?
Absolutely! We tailor our courses all the time. When customers can provide enough students for a private venue, we can bring together modules from any of our courses and/or focus the hands-on to any type of product that is most appropriate. These courses can be provided at any of our regional training facilities (Hickory, NC; Keller, TX; Palo Alto, CA; Irvine, CA; and Corning, NY), at the customer site or at any venue desired. Costs will vary based on the venue and location, but we can provide short-turnaround quotations. Call us at (800) 743-2671.

I have attended a class in the past couple of years but I have lost my certificate. Can I get a replacement?
For a class that is five or less years past, we will reprint a duplicate training certificate free of charge. Click here to request a duplicate such as this. We will then print an appropriate replacement and send it to you. To ensure timely processing, please fill in all information. Any fields left blank will cause a delay in processing your request. You must provide the student's name, the company name, a contact phone number and a mailing address or the request cannot be processed. For training records/certificates older than five years, we will have to search our archives so there will be a $200 charge (in advance) for doing this. This charge is for the labor involved in running the search even if training records are not found.

Isn't it true that your classes are simply a long sales pitch pushing your products?
Competitors try to differentiate by saying that their classes are "more than a sales pitch." But our long list of graduates will tell you that Corning classes are far from a sales pitch. Instead, they are aimed at showing students how the systems work, why the handling and details matter, and how to ask the right questions to select products that will work for their application. We do use our own products in the course, but that's because we have a comprehensive portfolio that covers every aspect of a fiber cabling installation. No other training provider has all these products of their own. At Corning we have learned that those who really understand fiber optic technology will embrace the technology more than those who have been simply shown an assortment of products. When people we have trained install fiber optic products, they do it right the first time, and their success keeps them coming back to Corning.

Who teaches your design classes?
Our design courses are broken into two major categories: Public (Carrier) Networks (where the network will be used by subscribers) and Private (Premises) Networks (where the network will be used primarily by the owner). Our Systems Engineers who specialize in support of each category teach these classes. For example, the Access (FTTx) Design classes are taught by Systems Engineers who answer questions and assist customers with FTTx designs on a daily basis. Likewise, the Data Center Design course and Fiber Systems Design course (our LAN design course) are taught by Systems Engineers who routinely do designs and answer questions for data centers, campuses, inter- and intra-building Local Area Networks, etc.

Who teaches your installation courses?
Our installation courses are taught by experienced engineers and field technicians who have been through a rigorous qualification process that ensures they have all the skills they need to properly lead their classes and thoroughly train their students. These instructors are not simply theorists — they have all had their hands dirty installing products in the field and they can relate their real-world experiences to students who need to know what to expect in field conditions. These instructors support customers constantly, whether on field projects, assisting customers over the phone, or in person, so when they hit the classroom, they are full of examples and experiences that help illustrate the topics they are teaching.
