Es un curso de cinco dias que entrena los técnicos en todos los aspectos de instalación de cables de fibras ópticas en un ambiente de red de área local (LAN). Ambos tipos de fibras ópticas, multímodo y monomodo son cubiertas en la clase. Instalación de cables, empalme de fibras empleando técnicas mecánicas y de fusión, terminación de cable (instalación de conectores y empalmes tipo “pigtail”) así como pruebas de aceptación son enseňados con suficientes practicas. En la clase los estudiantes construyen, realizan pruebas y diagnostican fallas de sistemas multimodo y monomodo.
