Corning Cable Systems Evolant® Solutions for Wireless Networks offer a variety of state-of-the-art enclosures, fiber optic cable and connectivity products to equip wireless towers, rooftops and switching centers. These solutions optimize costs through rapid installation combined with excellent technical support. Our fiber optic wireless products support both fiber to the cell site (FTTCS), or backhaul, and evolving fiber to the antenna (FTTA) networks.

Fiber to the Antenna (FTTA)
Fiber-fed remote radio technology offers potential savings through both CapEx and OpEx cost reductions compared to traditional coaxial cable-based solutions. Fiber to the Cell Site (FTTCS)
Backhaul providers bring optical cable to a cell site demarcation point and then distribute the fibers to multiple wireless operators’ base station equipment. The wireless operators are increasingly leveraging optical fiber to provide the high bandwidth necessary to service cell site applications. Corning Evolant® Solutions for Wireless Networks ensure current and future backhaul capacity needs are met.


Benefits of Fiber Optics in FTTA Applications:

Relative to Coax-Fed Antennas

  • Fiber-fed remote radios (RRs) offer significant power savings (as little as 50% of the power for the same coverage area.)
