Broadband Stimulus

The Broadband Stimulus is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 and intends to provide $7.2 billion for broadband deployments in unserved and underserved areas. The Department of Agriculture’s Rural Utility Service (RUS) and the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) have been selected to administrate the funds under their Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP) and Broadband Technologies Opportunity Program (BTOP).  The recently have defined the terms of the dispersion of these funds through the first of potentially three Notice of Funds Availability (NOFA).

Corning Cable Systems is dedicated to helping its customers take advantage of this opportunity.  Through this web portal we will provide updates regarding the stimulus package as well as tools to assist you through the process.

Corning has also committed to providing contacts for Professional Engineers (PEs) via our Total Access ProgramSM (TAP) and FTTxpert® programs that are licensed and registered throughout the continental United States. These PEs may be of assistance in approving your broadband designs in order to meet the requirements of ARRA.  Please email us at econstimulusinfo@corning.com for more information on PEs in your area.
