xDSL Splitter Solutions

xDSL technology for today and tomorrow (ADSL, ADSL2+, VDSL, VDSL2, SHDSL, etc.) allows for data communication (broadband service) over existing telephone lines (local loop) mostly in addition to (i.e. in parallel with) voice service.
Private customers around the world enjoy ADSL2+/VDSL2 based broadband services like internet, video on demand, or voice communication. At the same time carriers take advantage of DSL services to significantly reduce the risk of blocking effects in voice switches resulting from long lasting internet sessions based on dial in modems.

Setting up one of the above mentioned xDSL systems needs the installation of active and passive components on both ends of the local loop (central office [CO] and customer premises).

Modems (DSLAMs) in central offices or in remote cabinets and modems on the customer side (CPE Modems) use frequencies higher than those used for voice communication to establish a high speed data communication.
Splitters on both sides of the local loop make sure that the frequency range used for the voice communication (POTS or ISDN) is not affected by the DSL communication and vice versa.

Corning Cable Systems belongs to the leading suppliers of splitter solutions, both for splitters connected to DSLAMs (either CO or remote cabinet) and for splitters connected to the modem at customer premises.
