Cross-Connection Cabinets and Wall-mounted Distribution Boxes
Cross-Connection Cabinets
Higher pair count cables transmit signals from the Central Office to cross connection cabinets from where signals are further distributed to the end customers based on lower pair count cables.
Distribution strips installed in the CCC support termination of multi pair cables and flexible connection between individual pairs of different cables.
Corning MDF Series 1000RT provides for highest density and flexibility in MDF installations in space restricted environments. Based on standard cross connection cabinet KVz82 MDF Series 1000RT allows to support installation of up to 2000 pairs.
Wire guides and jumper combs well known from Central Office installations are always part of Series 1000RT installations and thus support best practice in cable management in cross connection cabinets.
Wall-mount Distribution Boxes
The subscriber cables are led to the subscriber from the cable distribution box. This is the last distribution point. Given that only a small number of wire pairs are distributed here, the use of large distribution components (suitable for in excess of 100 wire pairs) is not necessary in this case. Distribution strips, e.g. the 10-pair strips of Series 1000RT, are required in such cases. These strips are installed in distribution boxes made of metal (indoors) or plastic (outdoors), depending on the installation location.
