Corning Gilbert Introduces its Newest Bonding Block Connector
Glendale, AZ, August 1, 2005 – Corning Gilbert, a subsidiary of Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) today announced the introduction of its newest bonding block, GGB-GHZ-3, which offers unparalleled performance for today's high tech requirements.
"The GGB-GHZ-3 incorporates the two key features our customers have stated are the most important: long term reliable corrosion resistance and excellent return loss performance," said David Johnson, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, Corning Gilbert.
This design requires hard nickel plating to resist 1000 hour salt spray tests with no visible exterior degradation. To prevent moisture from entering the core of the bonding block and to provide for a long product life, seal rings are installed on the SCTE compliant port interface. Beryllium copper cylindrical contacts mounted in a flat-faced machined brass housing are essential to reaching the electrical performance criterion. Even at high performance requirements of certain systems, the GGB-GHZ-3 exceeds expectations. This Bonding Block meets SCTE port length requirements for proper connection and sealing.
