Corning Gilbert Introduces the RCA, BNC and Mini F family of UltraEaseTM Connectors
Glendale, AZ, August 1, 2005 – Corning Gilbert, a subsidiary of Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) today announced the introduction of RCA, BNC and pin type "F" male connectors, part of the Corning Gilbert UltraEaseTM connector family. The RCA and BNC connectors are available for 59, 6, and mini coax series of cables. The pin type "F" male connector is available for mini coax-cables.
"We have been growing our F connector family from four feed through connectors to include drop connectors for every customer need. We will continue to differentiate ourselves in 2005 by introducing innovative broadband products targeted at the new demands of the network drop segment," said David Johnson, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, Corning Gilbert.
All of the newest RCA, BNC and Mini F connectors incorporate a gold plated pop-up pin (patent pending) that eliminates blind entry when installing. UltraEaseTM connector compression technology provides excellent RF shielding integrity through its 360 degrees of contact to the cable. The UltraEaseTM connector design gives the lowest activation force available in a high performance compression connector. The Corning Gilbert one-piece design eliminates any loose parts and facilitates the connectorization process rapidly and consistently without the risk of misalignment of multiple parts.
These connectors use commonly available compression tools. Their materials and construction include: Black UV Resistant Polymer in the body providing better durability than colored plastics, brass alloy nickel plating in the shell and body and brass alloy with bright tin plating in the post for excellent conductivity.
RCA connector series have gold plated interfaces.
BNC's exposed metal surface is nickel plated for superior corrosion resistance.
F series connectors are compatible with existing UltraSeal® connector compression tools and with industry accepted security sleeves.
UltraEaseTM and UltraSeal® are trademarks of Corning Gilbert. Corning Gilbert owns U.S. Patent No. 6,790,081 and other patents pending. For availability and ordering information, please contact Customer Service at (800)-528-5567.
Corning Gilbert's broadband product portfolio will be on exhibit during the Cedia Expo, September 7-11 in Indianapolis, IN. For more information, visit the Corning Gilbert Booth (#99A) during the show or the Corning website at www.corning.com/corninggilbert.
