Glendale, AZ, August 1, 2005 – Corning Gilbert, a subsidiary of Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) today announced the introduction of its UltraRange^TM connectors, Series 59 and 6. These connectors are part of Corning Gilbert's new generation of high performance sealed compression F-connectors.

"The new UltraRange^TM connectors have rugged all metal exteriors and combine high performance with ease of installation," said David Johnson, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, Corning Gilbert Inc. The UltraRange^TM 59 & 6 connector designs incorporate a floating, free spinning nut (U.S. Patent No. 5,975,591) making installation connection faster and more reliable. The one-piece design eliminates any loose parts and connectorization can be performed rapidly and consistently without the risk of misalignment of multiple parts while using most commonly available compression tools.

The UltraRange^TM connector compression technology uses a new patent pending dual ramp gripping member that swages over a large area of the cable jacket providing 360 degrees of contact to the cable, excellent RF shielding integrity and a complete moisture seal to the cable jacket. The UltraRange^TM is also weather resistant when used with the Corning Gilbert Seal Ring (G-SR-1/2) and installed on a standard F female port (ANSI/SCTE SP 400 1996). Its sealing system passes the SCTE interface moisture migration tests (SCTE IPS TP 013).
