Corning® Aseptic Transfer Caps
Pipetting is not practical or convenient for aseptically filling or emptying large culture vessels. As a result, pouring is often used but this increases the risk of contamination (Figure 1). To solve this problem Corning has developed sterile Aseptic Transfer Caps for filling disposable 1L, 2L and 3L Erlenmeyer and 500mL and 1L Spinner Flasks. These new transfer caps will both reduce contamination and enhance the productivity of your cell culture operations.

- Double-bagged and gamma sterilized to 10-6 SAL
- Hydrophobic 0.2µm pore PVDF membrane vent filters
- Biocompatible C-Flex® tubing and angled polypropylene dip tubes
Corning® Aseptic Transfer Caps for Disposable 1L, 2L and 3L Erlenmeyer Flasks (Figure 2)
- 50mm diameter 0.2µm pore PVDF membrane vent filter.
- Choice of tubing sizes and connectors for the external liquid transfer port:
- A 1/4 inch (6.4mm) ID, 3/8 inch (9.5mm) OD C-Flex® transfer tubing has a terminal MPC male disconnect with a female sealing cap.
- A 1/8 inch (3.2mm) ID, 1/4 inch OD C-Flex® transfer tubing has a terminal male luer lock with a female luer sealing cap.
Corning Aseptic Transfer Caps for Corning® Disposable 500mL, 1L and 3L Spinner Flasks with GL45 threaded caps (Figure 3)
- 25mm diameter 0.2µm pore PVDF membrane vent filter
- External 1/8 inch (3.2mm) ID, 1/4 inch (6.4mm) OD C-Flex® transfer tubing has a male luer lock closed with a female luer cap.
- Rigid angled polypropylene dip tube reaches flask bottom without impeding the action of the impeller.
